Soul mates reunited to share this lifetime together- Smiles and Hazel met at Burning Man in 2013. It was love at first sight.  She was thirsty and kind of lost; he walked straight up to her and offered her some water and a place to rest.  They felt an instant connection. Immediately, they walked around hand in hand.  They joked about getting married.  They spend the entire afternoon the next day laying in a hammock dreaming of travelling to South America.  They were instantly inseparable.
When it was time to return home, he to Reno and she to Salt Lake City, they said tearful goodbyes.  But the universe interjected and allowed them to spend three more magical days together.  They remember eating ice cream under a tree and jokingly picking out the names of their future children.  Before returning to Salt Lake City, Smiles begged of her don't ever forget- our beautiful time together, our connection, how natural it felt to be by one another’s side.  It was so hard to say goodbye.  She asked him if he would send her a love letter in the mail.  Three days later, there it was, postmarked from Reno the day she left.  They couldn’t stay apart- he came to visit her in Salt Lake City two weeks later.  What was supposed to be four days together turned into nearly two weeks-- they kept making excuses why he needed to stay just one more day. It was so romantic!
A month later he returned to her with all of his stuff packed into the back of his truck, and they moved in together. People thought they were crazy (and it was true)! Smiles and Hazel were in love. Nothing could keep them apart! They began to plan the backpacking trip they talked about the day they met and right before they were about to fly to Colombia, they got the most amazing surprise- they were already expecting a baby! They had only know each other two and a half months... yet they knew it would be okay.  They had to keep saying “yes!”
Smiles and Hazel eloped in Bariloche, Argentina under a full moon two months later, after wild adventures through the Southern hemisphere. A couple months later, Smiles found an excellent engineering opportunity and they moved to Michigan to build their nest. In August 2014, they welcomed their beautiful son Joseph into the world in most amazing way, a natural homebirth in the wee hours of the night. So many milestones their first year together, and just as many to come!  They remodeled their entire home from top to bottom, they traveled more, and learned more, and vowed to stay crazy in love as long as they can. They finally sold their house after making two wonderful years of memories, and the road is calling them again! So off they go, to drive through Central America in their 4x4 camper with their 2-year-old son! They need to show him that love is infinite, life is short, and anything is possible when you believe in magic!
